Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

Kansas City, MO | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry nurse to join a fast-paced unit caring for patients with cardiac conditions and post-procedural cardiac care needs. You'll work in a supportive, family-oriented environment with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, open-heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Read and interpret EKG and telemetry strips independently
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
• Perform IV insertions, nasogastric tube placement and maintenance, chest tube care, and temporary pacemaker management
• Work with a strong support team including a charge nurse, unit secretary, and patient care technicians
• Engage patients with respect and responsiveness, involving them in their care planning

What We're Looking For

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience required
• Demonstrated competency in post-cardiac procedural nursing
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Commitment to our patient experience standards

Schedule & Details

• Full-time, 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Includes 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Navy blue scrubs required (black pants with navy top acceptable)
