Burn ICU — Travel RN | Kansas City, MO

Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract

This is a specialized Burn ICU position caring for adult patients across a mixed-acuity continuum — from ICU through step-down level care. Patients remain on the unit from admission through discharge, making this a clinically dynamic and longitudinally engaging assignment.

• Strong multidisciplinary team: burn surgeon, APP, intensivist, rehab, dietary, pharmacist, and case management
• Critical care intensivists available 24/7
• Dedicated unit-based paramedics
• Hyperbaric chamber with a dedicated trained hyperbaric RN
• Teamwork-oriented environment with an experienced core staff

Clinical Scope

• Debridement and complex wound/dressing changes
• Central line insertion and management
• Chest tube insertion and maintenance
• Post-operative procedural care
• Hemodynamic monitoring and drip titration
• CRRT management
• Cardiac rhythm monitoring

Scheduling

• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• No on-call requirement
• Float to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU) as needed; agency staff float first

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, TNCC (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• ABLS preferred but not required

Preferred Skills & Experience

• ICU-level background required; burn experience strongly preferred
• CRRT training and hemodynamic management
• Cardiac rhythm proficiency

Dress Code

Navy blue scrub top; navy blue or black scrub pants; scrub jacket. No T-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts.
