PACU Nurse – Seasonal Travel Assignment
Position Details
- Specialty: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
- Shift: 3:30 PM – 4:00 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Location: Englewood, CO
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
About the Unit
You'll work in a high-volume PACU managing diverse surgical recovery and pre-operative patients. The unit handles a significant neurological volume, including stroke patients, interventional radiology cases, and TAVRs. Surgical specialties include spine, general, GI, colorectal, total joint replacement, GYN, and robotics procedures. All PACU staff float between units to support operational needs.
Patient Care & Staffing
- Patient ratios: 1 RN to 2 patients (same-day surgery patients may reach 3 at a time)
- Staffed to ASPAN standards
- Approximately 70 clinical staff on the unit
- Flexible scheduling based on surgical volume
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of current PACU hospital experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication and flexibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Stroke care experience
- Critical care experience
- Additional PACU background
