CVOR Registered Nurse — Asheville, NC
13-Week Travel Contract | Days | 36 Hours/Week
This cardiovascular OR position supports a high-volume, efficient surgical program performing complex cardiac and thoracic cases. The unit operates with experienced staff and is not a training environment — prior CVOR travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 06:00–18:30
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- On-call shifts assigned and rotated among staff
- Occasional float may be required (infrequent)
Clinical Scope
The CVOR performs a full range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including:
- CABG, Valve Replacement, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure
- VAD Insertions, TAVR, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, Circulatory Arrest
- Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, EVH
- VATS, Lobectomy
All cases require a dedicated RN Circulator and a scrub role. Pump cases additionally require a first assist or heart holder (RN or CST).
Required Experience & Certifications
- Extensive RN Circulator experience in CVOR — this is a must
- Scrub/first assist experience preferred but not required
- Active RN License
- BLS
Unit Support
- Unit Secretary, Charge Nurse, PCA, and Core Tech on unit
- Scrubs provided by the facility; surgical attire policy applies
