Shift: 4 x 12 Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
About the Unit
This general medical-surgical and observation unit manages a diverse adult patient population across a broad range of acuities. Nurses here provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and short-stay observation alongside traditional med-surg admissions. The position is filling a vacant permanent need, reflecting consistent unit demand.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct patient care across general med-surg and observation populations
- Perform and interpret EKGs as part of routine monitoring
- Utilize point-of-care glucose testing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient transitions and discharges
Requirements
- Active RN license (Kansas or applicable compact)
- Nursys license verification
- Skills checklist and 2 professional references required at submission
- EKG competency exam required prior to start
Onboarding Includes
- Core competency testing
- Point-of-care glucose testing validation
- Drug screen (11 & 12 panel)
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-spot)
- Respiratory fit test
- Criminal background check and employment/education verification
