Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse – 12-Week Assignment
Position Overview
Join a fast-paced med/surg telemetry unit where patients move quickly through the facility (average length of stay: 3 days). You'll care for adult and pediatric med/surg patients across a range of acute conditions in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour days: 7 AM – 7 PM
- Every other weekend (or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle)
- Self-scheduling available; schedules posted 30–45 days in advance
- Call requirement: Yes
- Float opportunities available to telemetry or OB (optional, if experienced)
Clinical Scope
Key Responsibilities
- Titrate heparin and protonix drips
- Manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Provide telemetry monitoring and patient education
- Collaborate with hospitalists available on-site
Requirements
- 2–3 years med/surg nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS (AHA), and PALS (preferred) certification
- Telemetry experience required
- Pediatric experience preferred (patients without peds experience will not care for pediatric population)
Support & Environment
Nurse aides available; charge nurse provides team leadership. Navy blue scrubs. Orientation: 2–3 days, including unit-specific training.
Contract: 13 weeks | Start: November 3, 2026
