Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 12-hour night shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract. You'll be the primary therapist on duty during night hours with a second therapist available on call. On-call coverage is minimal—approximately 4 days per month, primarily weekends (Saturday–Monday), with a 1-hour response time.
Clinical Scope
You'll manage a diverse patient population across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings:
- Primarily adult patients, with pediatric and neonatal cases
- 10–30 STM treatments per day
- Neonatal experience with Bubble CPAP and ventilators required
- ABG draws and EKG performance
Required Qualifications
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (all AHA/NBRC)
- RRT or CRT (NBRC)
- Neonatal ventilator and Bubble CPAP experience
What You'll Use
Ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP systems, and high-flow oxygen devices. Department-specific orientation with preceptors will familiarize you with all equipment and protocols.
Scheduling & Logistics
- No floating outside respiratory therapy (internal coverage only in rare circumstances)
- Weekend coverage required (Saturday–Monday nights)
- Holiday coverage required
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Must be available in-state for orientation week
