Neuro Interventional Radiology Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's Interventional Radiology department is seeking an experienced Neuro IR nurse for day shifts. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing complex vascular and neuro-interventional procedures, supporting a diverse patient population with stroke, bleeding, vascular, and oncologic diagnoses.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 1 weekday on-call per week + every 7–8 weekends on-call coverage
• No time off required on Thanksgiving or Christmas
• No float requirement
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Neuro IR experience required
• Current state RN license

Clinical Scope

You'll support procedures including:

• LVO thrombectomy, carotid/cerebral angiography & stenting
• Embolization (vascular, uterine, pulmonary)
• TIPS, dialysis access interventions, IVC filters
• Biopsies (lung, liver, kidney), paracentesis, thoracentesis
• G-tube and nephrostomy placements, Y-90 radioembolization

Key Skills

• Procedural sedation monitoring and management
• Central line/PICC placement assistance and maintenance
• Hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition
• ACT monitoring, vascular closure device management
• Emergency medication administration

Unit Details

• 4 procedure rooms, 25 daily census
• Interdisciplinary support with interpretation services
• 24 hours of orientation included
