Med Surg Tele

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Milton, MA

13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit cares for a diverse population of surgical patients with medical overflow. Nurses float between Med-Surg Telemetry units as needed and are responsible for independently reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips — there are no tele techs on this unit.

Schedule & Hours

• 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (excludes on-call time)

Clinical Scope

• Acute Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patient population
• Independent rhythm strip interpretation required
• Diverse surgical and medical overflow cases

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute Med-Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Pre-Acceptance Testing

Prior to acceptance, candidates must complete two assessments administered via Zoom:

• Dysrhythmia test (20 questions)
• Medication test (20 questions)
• Passing score: 85% | One attempt only — no remediation or re-sit
• A study guide with tips and answers will be provided; candidates are strongly encouraged to prepare thoroughly
• Testing must be completed within 48 hours of confirmation

Additional Requirements

• Must have been separated from the hiring health system for a minimum of 6 months and be in good standing to be considered
