Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Registered Nurse
Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (07:00–19:00) | 13-Week Contract
This pediatric-focused facility is seeking an experienced PICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in Lubbock, TX. First-time travelers with at least one year of PICU experience are welcome to apply.
Shift & Scheduling
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Self-scheduling; shifts may be consecutive or split
- Variable weekend commitment required
- No on-call required
- Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Float Requirements
Nurses may float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units. Refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The PICU cares for neonates through adolescents across a range of acuity levels. Key skills utilized in this role include:
- Ventilator management and assisted/managed intubation
- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- IV vasopressors and continuous sedation
- Hemodynamic monitoring and arterial blood gas interpretation
- Central line, PICC line, and chest tube management
- ICP monitoring and EVD care
- Post-cardiac surgery patient management
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Certifications Required
BLS and PALS
Additional Details
- Scrub color: Navy (RNs)
- Free parking on-site
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Compact license must be active and in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
