Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 3rd shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, with a focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and timely clinical response.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with chronic and acute conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, post-operative)
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN minimum; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the care team

Weekends and holidays required.
