Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

The Role

Join the facility's medical-surgical and telemetry unit, where you'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign assessment, recognizing and responding to rhythm changes
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound assessment and pain management
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Support infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift, depending on acuity

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• ADN or BSN
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 1+ years of med-surg/telemetry experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
