Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

The Opportunity

Join the facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit for a 13-week contract. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

What You'll Need

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical/telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• Start date: November 2, 2026
