Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Shift & Schedule

3rd shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Weekends and holidays as needed

13-week contract

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical/telemetry unit provides comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work in a fast-paced acute care environment managing patients across a spectrum of diagnoses including post-operative cases, diabetes, cardiac, and respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously, responding promptly to any changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• 1+ years of acute care medical-surgical/telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
