Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced PICU nurse for a 13-week contract on day shift. You'll provide direct care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-census environment, working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 3×12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Minimum 2 holidays to be worked during the contract
- Blocked schedules available if willing to work weekends (Friday–Sunday)
- Request time off (max 5 days) at time of application or it will not be honored
Clinical Details
- Patient population: Infants, children, and adolescents requiring critical care
- Float requirements: Expected to float to the cardiac ICU (CVPICU) as needed. Float assignments are given at the start of your shift; floats occur infrequently due to census but travelers are first to be reassigned if census drops.
- Experience required: Minimum 2 years PICU experience with exposure to cardiac ICU
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS (current and required)
- Valid Ohio or compact state RN license
- All nursing certifications (e.g., PCCN) should be noted in your application
- Supervisor reference required (from past 2 years)
Requirements
- Fully vaccinated (no exceptions)
- Flu vaccine required
- Clean background (no license hits)
- Fingerprinting and background check completed on first day
- Previous facility employees ineligible for 1 year from termination date
