Emergency Room RN — Freestanding Emergency Department | Edinburg, TX
Shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM | Contract: 13 weeks | Start: October 26, 2026
This position is based in a freestanding emergency department serving a diverse patient population in the Edinburg, TX area. The unit operates with a collaborative, team-focused nursing model and sees patients across all age groups and acuity levels.
Clinical Scope
Nurses in this role are expected to be proficient in a full range of emergency procedures, including:
- Splinting and wound management
- Moderate sedation
- Chest tube insertion and central line placement
- Arterial blood gas sampling
- Lumbar puncture
- Nebulizer treatments
Familiarity with rapid sequence intubation and mechanical ventilation setup is a plus, as is the ability to assist with obstetric deliveries in an emergency setting.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Strong skills with the ability to prioritize care efficiently across all patient ages
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Prior experience in high-acuity emergency settings
- RSI and mechanical ventilation experience
Schedule & Float
- Every other weekend required
- Float coverage between the primary freestanding ED and sister freestanding emergency department locations
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
