Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit on a 13-week contract. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously, identifying and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN minimum; BSN preferred

• 12-hour day shift
• Richmond, Kentucky
• 13-week contract
