Surgical Technologist – General Surgery & Gynecologic Robotics
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will serve as the primary scrub person for general surgery and gynecologic robotic procedures, working Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for surgical cases
- Pass instruments and assist surgeons during procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts throughout each case
- Anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly to procedural changes
- Monitor the sterile field and alert the surgical team to any breaks in technique
- Collaborate with circulating nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia providers for efficient case flow
- Assist with specimen handling and post-operative room turnover and terminal cleaning
- Maintain OR equipment and ensure rooms are fully stocked and ready for the next case
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or TS-C (NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified) certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 7 years of surgical technology experience
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and procedural anatomy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Schedule
- 13-week contract
- Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
- Call: 1–2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
