Float Pool RN – Medical/Surgical & Telemetry
About the Role
Join a float pool providing surge support across multiple inpatient units. You'll deliver direct patient care using the full nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. This role offers variety and the opportunity to build broad clinical skills across different patient populations and settings.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 hours per week (with possible overtime)
- Every other weekend rotation
- Every other holiday rotation
- Occasional on-call during low-census periods (1-hour response time if called in)
Float Assignments
You'll rotate across non-critical care inpatient units, including:
- Medical/Surgical units
- Telemetry units
- Behavioral Health
- Emergency Department (for boarded patients)
- CCU or ICU (if you have critical care experience)
Assignments may include the West Burlington campus and occasional shifts at Fort Madison or Henry County campuses.
Patient Populations & Acuity
Requirements
- Current RN license
- ACLS certification required
- EMR experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months
- Willingness to self-study telemetry strips and pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during first week
- Ability to float to multiple units within scope
Contract Details
- 13 weeks
- Start date: October 26, 2026
