Operating Room – Surgical Services | Travel RN

West Burlington, IA | 4×10 Days | 13-Week Contract

Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Guaranteed Hours: 40/week

This OR position supports a multi-specialty surgical environment, delivering intraoperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical disciplines. The role requires strong circulating and scrub skills, with additional responsibility as a resource nurse and first assistant as needed.

Surgical Specialties Covered:

• ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics (including Spine)
• Podiatry, Dental/Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Ophthalmology
• Urology, OB/Gynecology (including C-sections), Vascular, Bariatric

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Circulating and instrumenting surgical cases
• First assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers
• Patient assessment, education, and intraoperative care coordination
• Serving as resource nurse when needed

Call Requirements:

• Approximately 70–80 hours of call per 4-week period
• 30-minute response time required

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Iowa license or compact eligibility)
• Prior OR experience with circulating and scrub proficiency
• Electronic health record experience required
• Required immunizations: Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, TB test/questionnaire
• Skills checklist required for onboarding

This is a high-volume, multi-specialty OR with strong call expectations — ideal for an experienced OR nurse comfortable working across diverse surgical service lines.
