Float Pool RN – Telemetry / Med-Surg | Nights | Camarillo & Oxnard, CA

Shift: 12-hour nights, 7 PM – 7:30 AM

Contract: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Start Date: November 9, 2026

This is a float pool position based on a Telemetry unit, with a requirement to float to a second facility approximately 9 miles away. Travelers will orient to both locations.

Primary Unit – Telemetry

High-acuity patient population including ia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab patients, CHF, COPD, and respiratory distress. Expect primary care nursing in a fast-paced environment with limited tech support. A charge nurse and resource RN are on at all times; the charge nurse carries no patient assignment. Non-titrating drips include amiodarone, cardizem, and heparin. Nurses must independently read telemetry strips. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7.

Secondary Float Unit – ACU (Telemetry/Med-Surg)

A combined acuity unit covering telemetry and med-surg patients; travelers float between those two areas (not DOU). Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac cases. Non-titrating drips (amiodarone, cardizem) in use; BIPAP/CPAP may be present.

Requirements:

• Active RN license (CA)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• 2–3 years RN experience; travel experience preferred
• Drip experience required (amiodarone, cardizem, heparin)
• Chest tube experience preferred
• Must be able to read telemetry strips independently
• Scrub color: Navy

Schedule: Every-other-weekend commitment; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period; one major and one minor holiday required. Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
