Labor and Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Labor and Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, providing direct patient care in a busy L&D unit. This is a full-time position with 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled care to laboring patients and their families
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs; respond quickly to changes in patient status
- Support patients through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document care using the facility's electronic medical records system
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
Requirements
- Current RN license (state of practice)
- BLS/ACLS certification required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent L&D nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
