PACU / Pre-Post Anesthesia Care — Travel RN

Morgantown, WV | 13-Week Contract | Days/Evenings | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit manages both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery for a broad surgical population. Common case types include orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, GYN, urology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and podiatry. ICU-level patients also recover in this PACU, and RNs are expected to read cardiac strips.

Shift & Schedule

• Three 12-hour day/evening shifts per week, Monday–Friday
• Rotation includes 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays per 4-week schedule
• No nights, no weekends
• Holiday rotation (winter and summer) shared with float units
• One 12-hour call shift required per 4-week period (1-hour response time)

Float Requirements

• May float to Pre/Post areas on other units as needed

Clinical Details

• Phase 1 and Phase 2 care provided within the same unit
• Perioperative Care Assistants (PCAs) provide support staff coverage
• Charge nurse coverage available; house supervisor on site at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PACU or Peri-operative experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-issued
• Scrub color: OR scrubs
• Unit orientation: up to 3 shifts

Contract Details

• Duration: 91 weeks (approximately 13-week initial period)
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
