Emergency Room RN — 12-Hour Nights | Newburgh, NY

This ED opportunity is set in a fast-paced acute care environment serving a diverse patient population. The unit handles a high volume of emergency cases requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage elevated patient ratios. Candidates must be comfortable and confident working in a demanding, high-acuity setting.

Contract Details

• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend & holiday rotation required
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active New York RN License
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
• COVID compliance documentation
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience preferred

Scrubs: Dark Blue or White

Orientation & Competency Requirements

All travelers complete unit-specific orientation and must pass two competency exams with a minimum score of 80%:

• Medication Test — 20 questions covering adult and pediatric medication administration (formula sheet and calculator provided)
• Dysrhythmia Test — 16 rhythm strips requiring rhythm identification and appropriate treatment or intervention

Scheduling Policy

• Strict no-call-off policy
• 14 days written notice required for cancellation
