Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — Travel Contract

Newark, NY | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This travel RRT position supports both long-term care and acute care settings across the eastern region. Floating between facilities is required, and a personal vehicle is necessary due to the rural nature of the locations — rideshare services are not reliable in this area.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

• Patient population spans neonates through geriatrics
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
• Procedures include ventilator management and weaning, ABG sampling, intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care and management, pulmonary hygiene, and med administration
• Airway modalities: BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, T-piece, trach collar, bag-mask, oral/nasal airway placement and suctioning (ETT, NT)

Requirements

• Active New York RRT license — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS and RRT certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• Long-term care experience strongly preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

• Float between LTC and acute care settings as scheduled
• Pre-start orientation modules required
