Registered Nurse

House Supervisor — Night Shift | Rochester, NY

13-Week Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This house supervisor role provides facility-wide leadership and oversight across all nursing units on night shift. The position requires a confident, experienced clinician who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced inpatient environment serving a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12)
• Monday–Friday coverage 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM; full 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays
• Every other weekend required
• Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing, staff management, and real-time patient and visitor needs across the entire facility
• Support bed placement, patient throughput, and flow
• Mitigate clinical and operational risk; manage sentinel events and escalation processes
• Lead code management and rapid response coordination
• Facilitate bedside handoff and other care delivery initiatives
• Apply de-escalation, crisis intervention, and managing assaultive behavior skills as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience with prior charge or supervisory experience required
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Active NY RN license required at time of submission
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Electronic health record proficiency required
• Requested time off may not exceed 10 days per contract

Orientation: Approximately 24 hours (module completion required prior to start)
