Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse for night shifts in a community hospital setting.Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Contract Duration: 26 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: 3 out of 6 weekends
Clinical Scope
You'll provide emergency care to patients of all ages—neonates through geriatrics—managing conditions including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, mental health crises, and acute medical presentations. The unit handles both adult and pediatric cases (EDAP certified). Float to the observation unit (ER Hold patients) is required.
Required Qualifications
- Current California state license (compact license required at submission)
- Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications
- Strong skills in IV management, medication administration, procedural sedation, intubation support, and trauma care

- 40-hour orientation included
- Interdisciplinary support: respiratory therapy, radiology, social work, lift teams, rapid response
- Scrubs: wear your own (no prints)
- Two pre-approved days off available
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be approved
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, NYE/NYD)
- Two professional references required (covering 1 year within last 3 years)
