Travel RN – Telemetry | La Jolla, CA | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry float position supports adult and geriatric patients across a multi-campus health system. Nurses in this role may be assigned to telemetry, orthopedic, general surgical, urology, or trauma units based on census needs.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle
• At least one holiday shift required, including holiday weekends
• Contract duration: 13 weeks

Float Requirements

Float assignments may occur across multiple campuses to like units or lower-acuity settings (ED excluded).

Clinical Scope

Patients present with a broad range of diagnoses. Key skills and responsibilities include:

• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care
• Stroke care, intracranial bleeds, and traumatic brain injury
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management (non-titrating), heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration, thrombolytics, PCA management
• Wound care, wound vac, surgical drains, continuous bladder irrigation
• Orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, traction, skin grafts

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Requirements

• Active California RN license (Temp or Perm) at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of concurrent telemetry experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Electronic health record experience within the last 6 months of work history
• No local candidates within 100-mile radius
