Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Stepdown unit. You'll provide care to patients transitioning from acute care, managing intermediate acuity cases and supporting patient recovery and discharge planning.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- 13-week contract
- Float availability required per facility policy and your clinical experience
Requirements
- 5+ years of nursing experience; minimum 2 years in stepdown or similar specialty
- Current California RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand
- Charting system: Paragon (training provided)
Onboarding
You'll complete two required courses within 30 days of your start date:
- Fire Card
- Assaultive Behavior
Documentation must be submitted two Mondays prior to your start date. Time-off requests must be submitted at offer stage.
Clinical Details
You'll care for stepdown-level patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Float assignments may include medical/surgical, telemetry, or other units as clinically appropriate and consistent with facility policy.
