Ultrasound Sonographer – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility's ultrasound department is seeking an experienced sonographer for night-shift coverage. You'll work Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM, in a busy diagnostic ultrasound unit performing a full range of procedures.
Clinical Scope
You'll perform thoracentesis, paracentesis, fine-needle aspirations (thyroid, parotid, lymph nodes), biopsies (liver, renal, lymph node, prostate), ultrasound-guided drainages (abscess, cyst, hematoma, gallbladder), and thrombin injections. OR experience includes breast needle placements, carotid assessment, and other procedural support. Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.
Requirements
- Current NH MIRT licensure (certification in hand before submission)
- RDMS certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year ultrasound experience with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
- Strong anatomy and pathology knowledge; ability to identify normal and abnormal findings
- Solid understanding of sonographic physics and scanning techniques
- Clinical background in hospital or acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- RVT, OB-GYN, or AB certifications
- OR and ultrasound procedure experience
- 1+ year post-education experience
Schedule & Logistics
- 4 x 10-hour nights (Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- 48 guaranteed hours per week
- 8-week contract
- No on-call; weekends off
- Opportunities for additional shifts within the department
