Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Third Shift)

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Richmond, KY

About the Role

The facility seeks an experienced RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where clinical autonomy, strong assessment skills, and cardiac monitoring expertise are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care centered on assessment, treatment, and patient/family education
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute diagnoses (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and others)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• 1+ years of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills
