Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Shift & Contract Details

• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Third Shift)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Location: Richmond, KY

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the full nursing process; develop and implement individualized care plans
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, wound care, and pain management for surgical patients
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
