Registered Nurse – Clinical Decision Unit / Telemetry

Lexington, KY | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is based in a Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) functioning primarily as an observation unit with telemetry monitoring capability. The unit serves a cardiac, medical, and pre- and post-procedure patient population, with admissions coming primarily from the emergency department, cath lab, and direct admission pathways.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12s
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Clinical Scope

• Continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation
• Care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac, medical, and respiratory diagnoses
• Pre- and post-cardiac procedure management
• Medication administration, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Discharge planning in coordination with case management and the interdisciplinary team
• Patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or applicable compact license)
• ADN/ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
• Prior nursing experience preferred; new graduates considered

This is a well-defined observation unit role suited for nurses comfortable with telemetry monitoring, cardiac patient populations, and efficient throughput in a fast-paced environment.
