Orthopedic/Telemetry Nursing – 12-Hour Day Shift
Position Overview
Join the orthopedic/telemetry unit as a registered nurse caring for patients recovering from joint replacements, orthopedic procedures, and fracture management. This 12-hour day shift role offers the chance to work with a collaborative nursing team in an acute care setting.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts
- Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (weekend-based schedule)
- Holiday Coverage: Required; travelers work into the holiday rotation
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Orientation: 1–2 shifts on the unit
- Float Potential: May float to adjacent orthopedic and general acute care units as needed
Clinical Requirements
- Must-Have: Strong orthopedic experience with total joint replacement cases (not fracture-only experience)
- Required Certification: BLS
- BSN: Not required
- License: RN licensure required
Key Details
- Telemetry monitoring available; RNs do not read strips
- Respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen) available as needed
- No drip titration required
- Royal blue scrubs
- Up to 2 shift cancellations allowed per 13-week contract
Candidate Eligibility
- Driver's license address must be 50+ miles from the facility
- COVID vaccination required (Moderna/Pfizer 2-dose series or Janssen 1-dose; exemptions considered)
