Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Burlington, NC

13-Week Assignment | Day Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

This high-volume Emergency Department cares for patients across all age groups — from neonates through geriatrics — with a clinical focus that includes cancer emergencies, sepsis, behavioral health, and medical emergencies. The facility also supports STEMI and stroke care, women's health, and interventional cardiology services.

Schedule & Coverage

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Occasional night availability (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) if needed
• Up to every-other-weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirement
• Self-scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, STARR/Behavioral Health
• Prior experience in a STEMI- and stroke-certified facility

Key Clinical Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care
• Central line care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors
• Blood product administration, procedural sedation
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• , ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury
• Phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs

Additional Details

• Orientation: 36 hours
• EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
• Floating to other campus locations may be required
• No local candidates within 50-mile radius
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
