NICU Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill neonates and premature infants requiring complex medical and surgical interventions. You'll work as part of a dedicated team delivering safe, efficient, and culturally sensitive care to patients and families.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour shifts with flexible rotation
- Start times: 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- License & Certifications: Current RN license (MA), BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Education: Nursing diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years NICU RN experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing services to full-term and premature infants
- Assess and manage critically ill patients requiring intensive care
- Demonstrate excellent clinical judgment and technical skills
- Communicate effectively with families to address cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs
- Perform patient lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance
- Maintain accurate documentation and mathematical competency for treatment protocols
- Support charge nurse duties as needed
Essential Competencies
Strong assessment and clinical skills, excellent organizational abilities, proficiency with computerized systems, and professional communication in English.
