Echocardiology Technologist
Position Overview
The facility's Diagnostic Imaging department is seeking an experienced Echocardiology Technologist to perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients. You'll work closely with cardiologists and care teams to obtain diagnostic images and measurements that support detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies according to departmental protocols
- Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout examinations
- Apply clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, and recognize significant findings
- Communicate urgent findings to physicians as appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals across multiple care settings
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum one year of echocardiography experience
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques
Schedule & Contract Details
- Monday–Friday, four 8-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
- 13-week contract
- Start date: September 15, 2026
- Guaranteed 32 hours per week
- Credentialing due 5 business days prior to start
Important Notes
- A dependable personal vehicle is required. The facility is located in a rural area approximately two hours from the nearest major airport; public transportation is not available.
- Housing is not provided. Local resources will be shared to assist with locating accommodations.
