Travel RN – Renal Med-Surg | Nights | Zanesville, OH

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 hours/week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Available start date: October 19

Unit Overview

This Renal Medical-Surgical unit specializes in the care of adult patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. The unit maintains a high-acuity, high-volume environment requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and close collaboration with nephrology and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to renal and medical-surgical patients
• Manage acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis complications
• Monitor and independently interpret cardiac telemetry
• Float as needed to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience; renal experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (mandatory; no training provided — lack of proficiency may result in contract termination)
• Competency assessment required on Day 1

Additional Notes

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours over the 13-week contract period. All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission.
