Labor & Delivery Nurse – 12-Hour Nights
Position Overview
The facility's Family Birthing Center is seeking a Labor & Delivery nurse for a 14-week contract. You'll work 12-hour night shifts (approximately 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) with every-other-weekend requirements and first-to-float status. The unit manages approximately 90–100 births per month, including standard labor and high-risk obstetric cases.
Unit Details
Clinical Scope
You'll care for laboring patients, manage high-risk OB cases, and perform for patients 20 weeks gestation and greater. You must be able to circulate cesarean sections. Obstetric physicians and anesthesia are on-site 24/7; respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and IV support are available as needed.
Requirements
- Current RN license (California)
- 2+ years of direct L&D experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications (copies required at submission)
- Ability to circulate C-sections
- Floor-specific orientation: 2–3 shifts depending on skill level
Schedule
No on-call. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Extra shifts available. The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
