Cardiac OR Tech — 91-Week Contract

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Shift: 06:00–16:30 (4 × 10 days)

Contract Duration: 91 weeks | Guaranteed 36 hours/week

About the Role

Join a high-performing cardiac surgery program as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in the Operating Room. You'll work in a 6-OR cardiac surgical suite performing complex cases including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, VAD insertions, VATS procedures, lobectomies, pacemaker/AICD insertions, and specialized techniques like septal myectomy and circulatory arrest cases.

Cases are efficient and well-organized with minimal downtime. You'll scrub as the primary surgical tech alongside a dedicated circulator and anesthesia team. Pump cases include a first assist role (RN or CST).

Requirements

• CST certification (mandatory)
• BLS certification (mandatory)
• Extensive CVOR experience required
• Minimum 2 prior travel assignments (non-negotiable)
• First Assist experience preferred but not required

What to Expect

• On-call shifts rotated among staff
• Potential to float if needed (infrequent)
• Hospital-provided scrubs; surgical attire policy applies
• Full orientation provided
• Supportive team: 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 1 PCA, 1 core tech per shift

This is not a training environment. Cases demand precision and efficiency in a respected surgical program.
