General Surgery RN – 13-Week Contract

About the Role

Join a busy general surgery unit as a registered nurse. You'll care for post-operative and acute surgical patients across a range of specialties, with a focus on urology and bowel care. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Days: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week rotation
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week

Clinical Scope

You'll manage 6–7 patients per shift and provide care including:

• Telemetry monitoring
• Post-surgical wound management (wound vacs, drains)
• Nutritional support (TPN, tube feeds, PEG tubes)
• Catheter and ostomy management
• IV medications and heparin drips
• Support for procedures including cholecystectomies, bowel resections, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, and hernia repairs

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Telemetry competency
• Experience managing 6–7 patients
• Strong background in urology and bowel care

Dress Code
