Progressive Cardiac Care Unit — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This cardiac progressive care unit manages a high-acuity patient population including those with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, and DKA. The unit also cares for post-procedure patients following cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and ablation procedures.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Required Skills & Experience

• Stepdown or progressive care experience (required)
• Telemetry experience (required)
• Proficiency with titratable cardiac IV medications, including nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics

Preferred Skills

• Experience with prostacyclin therapy (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge nurse experience

Procedures

• Bedside cardioversion

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS

Float Requirements

• May float to Med/Surg units, stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding

Dress Code

• All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants

The ideal candidate is flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced cardiac environment. This is a 13-week contract with a start date of October 12, 2026.
