Oncology / Women's Surgical — Night Shift | Asheville, NC
This 26-week travel RN contract is on a combined Oncology and Women's Surgical unit, providing care for oncology patients and post-operative gynecologic and surgical cases. Night shift hours run from approximately 18:45 to 07:15.
Clinical Scope
- Patient population spans oncology and women's surgical/post-op cases
- Procedures include occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis
- Chemo administration experience is preferred; Chemo Certification is a plus
Schedule & Coverage
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 6 weekend days required per schedule period
- On-call is rare
- Float to other med-surg units is uncommon
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemo Certification
Unit Culture
The unit values team players who are collaborative and willing to learn. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a structured med-surg oncology environment with a stable, supportive team.
Dress Code
- RNs: Navy, white, or a combination of both
- CNAs: Galaxy Blue
