About the Unit

This high-volume cardiovascular OR manages a full spectrum of complex cardiac and thoracic surgical cases. The environment is fast-paced and case-efficient, with an emphasis on excellent surgical outcomes. All cases require one scrub and one circulator; pump cases additionally require a first assist/heart holder role.

Procedures performed include:

• CABG, Valve Replacement, TAVR, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure
• VAD Insertions, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, Circulatory Arrest
• VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, EVH

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS Certification
• Extensive CVOR experience as an RN Circulator — required (no first-time travelers)
• Scrub/first assist experience preferred, not required

Additional Details

• Scrubs provided by the facility; surgical attire policy must be followed
• On-call shifts assigned and rotated among staff
• Floating possible but infrequent
• Location: Asheville, North Carolina

This is a well-established surgical program recognized for strong patient outcomes and clinical quality. Candidates must bring proven CVOR expertise — this is not a training environment.
