Emergency Department RN — Nights | Asheville, NC

This busy Emergency Department in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced RN for a 16-week night shift contract (18:45–07:15). The unit manages a high-volume, diverse patient population, including medical, behavioral health, and complex acute cases, within a comprehensive stroke and trauma-capable environment.

Unit Details

• High-acuity ED serving a diverse, multicultural community with over 120 languages represented
• Support staff includes techs in cardiac monitoring, an internal processing area, and unit clerks on both days and nights
• Float required within ED sections only — no floating outside the department
• Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available

Required Certifications (must have prior to submission)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
• CPI required by date of hire

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ED setting
• High-volume ED experience strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork orientation with the ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work all areas of the ED (, monitoring, processing)

• AIDET communication framework
• Consistent patient board updates and respectful, patient-centered interaction throughout each visit

Dress Code: Navy scrubs
