Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

Contract: 16 weeks | Shift: 18:45–07:15 | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week | Start Date: October 19, 2026

This high-volume Emergency Department manages a broad acuity mix, including complex medical, behavioral health, stroke, and trauma cases. The department serves a richly diverse, multicultural community and is known for its collaborative, welcoming team culture. Staff rotate through all sections of the ED, including cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and .

Schedule & Float

• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required; no block scheduling
• No floating outside the ED; must be flexible to all areas within the department
• No RTO or special scheduling accommodations

Required Certifications (prior to submission)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
• CPI required prior to start

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a high-volume ED or stroke center strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all ED sections

Clinical Environment

Patients may include high-acuity trauma, stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health presentations. Techs support cardiac monitoring and areas; unit clerks available days and nights.
