Emergency Department RN | Night Shift | Asheville, NC

A high-volume Emergency Department in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel contract. This is a busy, fast-paced ED serving a richly diverse, multicultural community — with staff known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
• No floating outside the ED; must be flexible to all sections within the ED (, cardiac monitoring, internal processing)

Contract Details

• Duration: 16 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Clinical Scope

This ED manages a broad acuity range including medical patients, behavioral health holds, and complex trauma and stroke cases. Techs are available and support cardiac monitoring and areas. Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, regular board updates, and consistent patient rounding.

Required Certifications (must have before submission unless noted)

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC — required before submission
• TNCC, CPI — required before date of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• High-volume ED background strongly preferred
• Trauma and comprehensive stroke experience preferred
• HCA experience a plus
• Strong teamwork orientation; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
