Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Asheville, NC

Shift: Nights, 18:45–07:15 (4×12)

Contract Length: 6 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week

About the Unit

This high-volume Emergency Department serves a richly diverse, multilingual community and is known for its strong team culture and welcoming environment. The unit manages a broad acuity mix including medical, behavioral health holds, and complex neurological presentations. Techs support cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing; unit clerks are available on both days and nights.

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend required
• Flexible scheduling to meet department needs; block scheduling is not available
• No floating outside the ED; floating within all ED sections is expected

Orientation

• 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour on-unit shift

Scrub Color: Navy (all navy, all white, or navy/white combination)

Required Certifications (before start date)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of start

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Experience in a high-acuity emergency environment strongly preferred
• Ability to work across all areas of the ED
• Strong teamwork orientation with real-time coaching and feedback skills
• Patient experience standards include AIDET, respectful communication, and keeping patient boards current
