Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Asheville, NC | Nights (18:45–07:15) | 4×12 | 6-Week Contract

This high-acuity Emergency Department serves a richly diverse community and is known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture. The unit manages a broad spectrum of emergency presentations, including medical, behavioral health holds, and cardiac monitoring cases.

Schedule & Hours

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15 (4×12)
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available
• Floating within the ED only — must be flexible across all ED sections

Clinical Environment

• Acuity ranges from general medical emergencies to behavioral health holds
• Techs support cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing
• Unit clerks available on both day and night shifts

Required Certifications (must be active before start)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Experience in a high-volume or trauma-level emergency setting preferred
• Strong teamwork orientation; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work all areas of the ED

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs required

Orientation

• 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor shift
