Nursing Supervisor – Long-Term Care

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Nursing Supervisor to support the Director of Nursing Services. You will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure quality care delivery, and assume DNS duties as needed. This is a full-time leadership role in a long-term care setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
• Flexible days and weekends as needed for staffing or patient needs
• On-call responsibilities included
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• BSN preferred; minimum graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Active, unencumbered RN license in Maine
• 2+ years in a management/leadership role with long-term care experience preferred
• Acute or rehabilitation experience preferred
• Current CPR certification and IV certification
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing standards, policies, and procedures
• Advocate for patient/resident rights and safety; maintain confidentiality
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care priorities and infection control
• Oversee staff competencies and provide mentorship
• Monitor quality improvement activities and corrective actions
• Participate in safety committees and training
• Evaluate staff performance and manage scheduling
• Handle emergency situations and assume DNS duties in their absence
• Supervise medication administration and controlled substance management

Note: Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility. The facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment.
